CONTINUOUS ANNEALING INSTALLATION

PURPOSE:To make use of waste heat and to improve the mechanical properties of a steel strip by providing a rolling mill of a prescribed draft between a preheating zone and a heating zone, providing tensioners on the inlet and outlet sides thereof and rolling the steel strip heated to a prescribed temp. CONSTITUTION:A steel strip 10 heated to 200 deg.C - recrystallization temp. is rolled down at 20-95% draft in a rolling mill 11 provided between a preheating zone 1 and a heating zone 2. Tensioners 13 are provided on the inlet side and outlet side of said mill 11 to permit easy rolling. Waste heat is utilized and the steel strip 10 is rolled under strong rolling reduction by the above-mentioned installation, by which the mechanical properties of the strip 10 are improved.
