PURPOSE:To enable formation of the title magnetic head by using single material by forming a lower magnetic pole and coil lead-out wire of the same material (a soft magnetic material having electrical conductivity, for example, ''Permalloy''). CONSTITUTION:A wire film of a soft magnetic material (for example, ''permalloy'') having electrical conductivity is laminated over the entire surface on a substrate 1 and is then etched in a way as to leave a lower magnetic pole 12 near a front end part 11a and a coil lead-out part 13 in the rear part. A lower insulating film layer consisting of, for example, SiO2, Al2O3, etc. is laminated over the entire surface contg. the magnetic pole 12 and the lead-out part 13. A gap material 18 for forming the front gap between the upper magentic pole and lower magnetic pole in the front part of a thin film magnetic head is laminated over the entire surface and an upper magnetic pole 19 is formed so as to connect the front gap part 17b and rear juncture 17a. The pole 19 consists of a magnetic material such as, for example, ''Permalloy'', etc. and is formed by laminating first the magnetic material over the entire surface, then forming the same into the shape of the magnetic pole 19 by etching, etc. |
