PURPOSE:To display the data processing function of a channel device at its maximum and to reduce the data processing load of a CPU by executing in a dispersed state data processing to be executed by a main CPU between the main CPU and the channel device. CONSTITUTION:When an output request to a printer 10 is generated in the main CPP1, the CPU1 generates a command for executing code conversion processing to the channel device 4. Started from the CPU1, the channel device 4 reads out and analyzes a command in a main memory 5 and the contents of a parameter storing area 51. Consequently, a code conversion program developed on a RAM in a memory 43 is executed. The channel device 4 executes the code conversion processing by using a prescribed area of the main memory 5. After the end of the code conversion processing, the main CPU1 generates a command meaning printout to the printer 10. |
