PURPOSE:To prevent the side of an original platen opposite to the projection side from being raised even if the original platen is moved and a copying machine body is small in size and light in eight, by placing the center of gravity of the copying machine body off the center of this machine body in the side of the original platen opposite to the projection side. CONSTITUTION:A center G of gravity of the copying machine is placed dimensions A apart from the center of a body 1 in the right direction. An original platen 2 is projected in the left direction by dimensions B and is projected in the right direction by dimensions C. B>C is true, and the center G of gravity of the copying machine body 1 is placed A dimensions apart from the center in the right direction. Consequently, when the original platen 2 is projected left, a point P is not on the copying machine body 1, but the right end part of the original platen on the copying machine body 1 is not raised and the original platen is not rotated counterclockwise with the lower end part as a fulcrum because the center of gravity is deflected right.
