PURPOSE:To unify resolution of the whole picture screen by magnetically combining the main lens part with the rear magnetic field of a deflection device while making the interaction of said magnetic field with the side electron beams weaker than the interaction with the center electron beam. CONSTITUTION:The main lens part of an inline type electron gun 17 of a color picture tube is formed of the third grids 61a-61c and the fourth grids 62a-62c and the cylindrical members 63a and 63c made of permally or the like are provided inside the fourth grids 62a and 62c on the side while providing the cylindrical member 64b of the same material inside the third grid 61b of the center. And the rear magnetic field on the neck 14 side of the deflection device 18 is magnetically combined with the cylindrical members 63 and 64 while a deflection amount of the both side beams is made to be smaller than that of the central beam with regard to the deflection in the main lens system. Accordingly, the resolution of the whole picture can be unified by improviding a beam spot shape of the screen peripheral part. |
