PURPOSE:To provide rapidly high quality to the surface of an obliquely stepped rod by reforming by irradiating high energy beams on the surface of the tread part of the rod and the surfaces of a part of a larger diameter and a part of a smaller diameter close to the tread part by a prescribed means at the same time. CONSTITUTION:A beam 2 having high energy density is equally divided into three beams 5, 6, 7 with two partially reflecting mirrors 3, 4, and the beam 7 passed through the mirrors 3, 4 is reflected by a totally reflecting mirror 11. The divided beams 7, 5, 6 are perpendicularly irradiated on the surface 8 of the tread part of an obliquely stepped rod 1 and the surfaces 9, 10 of a part of a larger diameter and a part of a smaller diameter close to the tread part. The surfaces 8, 9, 10 are reformed at the same time. |
