发明名称 MANUFACTURE OF OPTICAL WAVEGUIDE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain high coupling efficiency by installing a mask formed in parallel with at least >=2 change parts where the transmittance distribution of light changes transversely on the surface of a high polymer film contg. a monomer. CONSTITUTION:A mask 14 is installed on the surface (top surface) of a high polymer film 13 contg. a monomer. The mask 14 consists in laminating and forming a chromium film 14b on a substrate 14a and is formed in parallel with two change parts 14c, 14c allowing transmission of UV rays 15 at a prescribed space. The UV rays are irradiated from multiple directions to the mask 14 from above to manufacture an exposed part and a non-exposed part in the film 13, thereby forming an optical waveguide 12 having a circular section. The circular optical waveguide having the same diameter as the diameter of an optical fiber and having the refractive index distribution equal to the refractive index distribution of said fiber is formed by this invention and therefore high coupling efficiency is obtd.
