PURPOSE:To recover carbon dioxide to use the same in converting distilled water to potable water, by collecting non-condensible gas rich in carbon dioxide generated from the evaporator in a high temp. stage side. CONSTITUTION:High temp. seawater in the first flash box 1 of a high temp. stage side H is held under a state easy to discharge nitrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide and, because a confluent pipe 6 and an evaporator 4 are reduced in pressure by a gas extraction apparatus 7, the discharge of air components in also promoted along with water. In this case, water droplets are collected by a demister 2 and steam is condensed in a condenser 3 but non-condensible air components are extracted by air extraction piping 5. Further, when this gas is introduced into the pump side of a distilled water pipe 9, distilled water is easily converted to soft water and potable water is obtained.
