PURPOSE:To simplify connection of a filament by a method, in which one line is bent in a U-shape and its both leg parts are sealed to the stem while the filament end parts are welded to the horizontal part followed by cutting off the center of the horizontal part. CONSTITUTION:When mounting a coiled filament electrode 6 on a small-sized phosphor lamp or the like for substitution of an incandescent lamp, firstly one line is bent in a U-shape for forming a sealed-in line 20 while vertically sealing its both leg parts 21 on a stem 2. Next, the filament 6, in which its line connection part 12 is bent orthogonally to the axial direction of the coiled part 11, is fixed by spot welding to both ends of the horizontal part 22 of the sealed-in line 20. Thereafter, connection of the filament 6 is completed by cutting-off the horizontal part 22 near its center. Accordingly, inspite of any possible variety of the filament connecting part 12 or of any possible positional gap from the sealed-in line 20, the line connection is correctly performed without any defective. |
