PURPOSE:To enable a properly strong magnetic field to be formed, and a developer to be smoothly conveyed, by enlarging the distance between a nonmagnetic belt and a magnetic roller in a zone out of a developing zone. CONSTITUTION:A developer piled on a nonmagnetic belt 13 is moved with the belt 13 onto a nonmagnetic sleeve 12 surrounding a magnetic roller 11, and a magnetic brush of a developer is formed by the magnetic field of the roller 11. Since the roller 11 rotates in the direction of (a), the developer on the belt 13 is conveyed in the direction of (a) by the conveyance force of the roller 11 and the belt 13. The developer is regulated in height with a doctor blade 19 to a prescribed thickness, and then, moved to a developing zone oppsite to a photosensitive drum 10 to develop an electrostatic latent image. The developer remaining on the belt 13 becomes gradually apart from the roller 11, drops downward by its own weight, stirred well with a stirring roller 20, and moved toward a paddle wheel 17. |
