PURPOSE:To provide a small filter apparatus capable of filtering a large quantity of seawater, by filtering seawater by utilizing tide. CONSTITUTION:The titled filtering apparatus is constituted so that filters are superposed in several stages so as to be individually partitioned by the side plates of the filtering apparatus, and upper and lower partition plates while the outflow inhibiting plate is mounted in the side of a seawater intake part 15 and a reverse flow inhibiting plate 7 connected to a blocking plate 2 in a movable state by a hinge 6 is mounted in the side of an emitting port 16. Further, each filter forms a drawer type frame shape constituted of two filter side plates, a filter front plate 19 and a filter back plate 20 and the bottom part thereof is equipped with a filter material receiver 9 fixed by filter material receiving rods 8 while gravels 10 are layed on said receiver 9 to pack a filterial material 11. In this case, each filter is placed on the filter receiver provided to the side plates of the filtering apparatus and forms an accessible structure like a drawer.
