PURPOSE:To improve resolution by providing plural fixed camera and photodetecting radiant light from a hot thick plate, and dividing an image of the hot thick plate equivalently into plural parts and detecting the edge of the hot thick plate. CONSTITUTION:When the hot thick plate 5 is put in a visual field of measurement, the luminous flux 12 of radiant light from the thick plate 5 is converged by a lens 8 and then split into pieces of luminous flux 12a and 12b in two orthogonal directions by a translucent mirror 9; one piece of luminous flux 12a forms an image of the hot thick plate 5 on the surface of a two-dimensional CCD11 and the other piece of luminous flux 12b forms an image of the hot thick plate 5 on the plane of a two-dimensional CCD11. The images of different parts of the hot thick plate 5 are formed on the surfaces of the different two-dimensional CCDs 11 and 11, so the resolution of the images of the thick plate 5 is improved. Plural, i.e. (n) sets of fixed cameras 6 are provided, so 2xn images of the thick plate 5 are formed and further decomposed by the two-dimensional CCDs 11 and 11 into numbers of picture elements; and formed images are inputted as a video output to A/D converters 14, 14..., digitized, and stored as picture element information in memories 15, 15..., so that the images of the thick plate 5 are collected in a short time. |
