PURPOSE:To reduce the weight of core metal by forming recesses in the surfaces of hollow pipe facing each other in radial direction then contacting the bottoms of said recesses tightly each other to construct the core metal of steering wheel. CONSTITUTION:A rim core metal 2 is made by contacting the bottoms 7 of recess 6 formed along the axis of hollow pipe 5 each other against the upper and lower sidefaces of metal hollow pipe 5 facing each other in radial direction. A plurality of through-holes 8 are made with predetermined interval through the bottoms 7 contacting each other. A coating layer 9 is injection molded on the outercircumference of said rim core metal 2 to construct a steering wheel. With such structure, the core metal can be made thin resulting in reduction of the weight of core metal. |
