PURPOSE:To miniaturize and decrease weight in the titled air cleaner to stabilize the material quality thereof by forming a common terminal on the power source side of a resistor connected between electrodes and a high-tension power source, also forming an independent connector electrode side thereof, and covering both electrodes with a thin insulating material. CONSTITUTION:A corona current flows between an ionization electrode 1 and an opposite electrode 2 by a high voltage applied from a high-tension power source to generate ions and charge dusts and dirts, thus attracting and collecting them to the opposite electrode 2. Upon this occasion, the resistors 10 are put in respective ionization electrodes 1 in series. Therefore, even when the current increases instantaneously and abruptly between the pair of ionization electrodes 1 and opposite electrodes 2, the discharge voltage is automatically lowered and the spark discharge is extinguished. The thin insulating material layer 16 has an enough radiating effect, and can withstand the quantity of power consumed up to the standard value. Thus, the use of a low voltage resistor becomes possible and miniaturization and weight decreasing of the air cleaner are realized. |
