PURPOSE:To repair with a good airtightness by shrinking a heat conducting pipe by applying a localized heat, and then softening same to allow insertion of a sleeve to expand the pipe. CONSTITUTION:An induction heater 5 is inserted into a heat conducting pipe 3 to apply a localized heat to the heat conducting pipe 3 by the induction heat. When the heat conducting pipe 3 which was heated cools down, a gap 6 is formed between the heat conducting pipe 3 and a pipe plate 2. Then, a heating coil 7 is inserted into the heat conducting pipe 3 to soften same by the radiation heat. A sleeve 8 having an annular protrusions 9 on its outer wall is inserted into the softened heat conducting pipe 3, and it is expanded by a pipe expander 10. As the heat conducting pipe 3 has been softened, the annular protrusions 9 readily penetrate into the inner surface of the heat conducting pipe 3. |
