PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic disc device where a magnetic head is stopped accurately in the home position or the end position, by detecting the home position and the end position of a sector driving a head carriage which moves the magnetic head in the radial direction of a magnetic disc. CONSTITUTION:The rotary power of a stepping motor is transmitted to a pinion 49 and is decelerated through planetary gears and is transmitted to a sector 66 to move a head carriage 46 along a guide bar 50 track by track by a rotation- linear motion converter. When a magnetic head 48 is placed in the start position, namely, the home position, the first contacting part 84 is brought into contact with the first adjusting shaft 92 to generate a stop signal of a stepping motor 47, and feeding of the magnetic head 48 is stopped in the home position. When the magnetic head 48 reaches the terminal position, namely, the end position, the second contacting part 86 is brought into contact with the second adjusting shaft 94 to generate the stop signal of the stepping motor 47, and feeding of the magnetic head 48 is stopped in the end position. |
