PURPOSE:To use a roll at high temperature and to reduce its manufacturing cost by winding a fiber band-shaped sheet, provided with key-groove-shaped notches at its one side, around a jig to bond the sheet by compression and pressing the wound article from its both sides by flanges after fitting it to a central axis. CONSTITUTION:Notches 12 to be used as key grooves and notches 13 to be used as darts are alternately provided to the side edge of a band-shaped woven cloth 11. The cloth 11 is helically wound around a jig 17 while coating an adhesive on the cloth 11 by a coater 16. The cylindrical part 17b and keys 17c of jig 17 are made equal to the large diameter of central axis and keys of a roll respectively. The wound cloth is compressed by a press tool 18 and is heated, to form a wound article 19 by using a gelatimous adhesive. The article 19 is fitted and locked to the roll central axis by flanges and nuts, and then is heated to about 180 deg.C to solidify the adhesive thereby finish forming a roll. By this method, a roll resistant to high temperature and high in frictional coefficient even when wetted by oil, etc. is obtained, and its manufacturing cost is also reduced. |
