PURPOSE:To prevent a mixture in the vicinity of an ignition plug hole of a compression working chamber from being made lean upon the initial stage of engine start, by providing an engine load detecting means and a supply limiting means for limiting the supply amount of pressurized gas when a high load operation is detected. CONSTITUTION:When the injection of high pressure air into an expansion chamber 8 is initiated in the case of that a rotor 4 is position as shown, the injection is sustained until an apex seal passes over an ignition plug hole 10, and therefore, combustion in a trailing side combustion space S is promoted so that the area in the vicinity of an ignition plug hole 10 is scavenged. A valve 17 disposed between a check valve 16 and an air-pump 14, is connected to a supply control circuit 18 to form a supply limiting means 19 to which a load detecting means 20 is connected. When the load detecting means is turned on in accordance with the operating condition of the engine, pressurized air is discharged to the atmosphere through an open-to-atmosphere port 17a in the direction of the arrow L. Further, no compressed mixture in the vicinity of the ignition plug hole 10 is made lean by the pressurized air, thereby the output power may be enhanced. |
