PURPOSE:To prevent an engine from being supplied with overrich fuel when the engine is started by determining the quantity of fuel which is to be supplied when the engine is started, according to a lapse of time from the starting point of the engine run. CONSTITUTION:An engine starting point is detected at a step S1. If the engine starting point is detected, a reference fuel quantity which is determined on the basis of the engine running conditions including an engine rpm and an intake air quantity is multiplied by a value having a tendency that the value is increased with time passed from the engine starting point, at a step S2 so as to derive the starting compensated fuel quantity. At a step S3 the quantity of fuel to be supplied at the starting point is found by adding the starting compensated fuel quantity to the reference supply fuel quantity. The engine may be thereby prevented from being supplied with overrich air fuel mixture. |
