PURPOSE:To improve the sealing property of a cylinder and a piston and enhance the efficiency of a compressor, by making the center of gyration of the rolling piston and the axis of the cylinder uncoincident with each other, and by placing the curved portions of the piston and the cylinder in tight contact with each other. CONSTITUTION:When a separation slide valve 5 is at the top dead center, the restoring force of the valve is about to deform a rolling piston 7 in a region phi and put the piston out of contact with the inside 101 of the internal hole of a cylinder 1. However, since a counterforce is caused due to the eccentricity e+DELTAe of the cylinder 1 and the piston 7, the piston is always maintained in a closed state by friction. Rollers 84, 83, 82 act to prevent the basic form of the rolling piston from undergoing a large change.
