The present invention relates to an automatic steering device for the rear set of wheels for agricultural equipment with hydraulic turning such as ploughs. It comprises a beam in two sections 1 and 1A articulated on an axis A-A in the vicinity of the rear set of wheels, a chosen angle of articulation between the two parts of the beam allowing, on the one hand, a reduction in the width of the axle 2 of the set of rear wheels and, on the other hand, the ability, at the lateral limit of the field, to plough very close to this limit, a jack 5 for controlling the angle of articulation slaved to the hydraulic circuit for turning the plough being provided for this purpose.
