PURPOSE:To enhance the pressure send-out power of a regenerative electric fuel pump, by almost horizontally cutting the inside-diameter portion of the vane recess of the impeller of the pump in the axial direction so that the depth of the inside-diameter portion is not less than about one fifth of that of the outside-diameter portion of the vane recess and not more than a half of that of the outside diameter portion. CONSTITUTION:The depth di of the innermost-diameter portion of the vane recess 47 of the impeller of an electric fuel pump is made as large as possible so that the depth di is not less than about one fifth of that do of the outside-diameter portion of the vane recess and not more than a half of the depth do. The innermost-diameter recess 47a has an almost horizontal inclination. As a result, a dead water region which takes place just behind the front end of the vane recess 47 is reduced, so that the pressure send-out power of the pump is increased.
