DECIDING METHOD OF DETERIORATION OF COVERING BODY OF ELECTRIC WIRE AND DECIDING DEVICE FOR DETERIORATION DEGREE

PURPOSE:To decide on the deterioration of an electric wire covering body at a job site without breaking the electric wire covering body by moving a core rod axilally while loading constant pressure on the electric wire clamped between a pressuring device and the core rod, and measuring the hardness of the electric wire covering body from the movement extent. CONSTITUTION:The electric wire 1 coated with the covering body 1a is run through the gap between a presser piston 4 and a pressure stylus 3a and a moving pressure lever 9 and a fixed pressure lever 8 are gripped. Then a pressure pin 4b moves in an unloaded hole 9a and also moved in a slot 7b by length l. Consequently, the presser piston 4 moves toward the pressure stylus 3a to load nearly constant pressure on the covering body 1a, and the core rod moves axially according to the extent of intrusion, so that an indication corresponding to the movement extent is displayed on an indication part 2. Thus, the hardness of the covering body 1a is measured to decide on the degree of deterioration of the covering body 1a.
