PURPOSE:To prevent water-hammer from being generated in a water shut-off valve, by providing a rotary cylinder provided with a handle, for driving more than 3 of planetary rolls which transmit rotation to an adapter engaged with a handle shaft, onto the outer peripheries of the planetary rolls. CONSTITUTION:When a handle 18 is rotated to open a valve, a rotary shaft 17 is rotated counterclockwise so that planetary rolls 14 which abuts against the rotary shaft are rotated clockwise. Due to this rotation the planetary rolls advance clockwise since the planetary rolls 14 abut against the inner wall of a casing 11. Further, since the upper and lower shafts of each planetary roll are journalled to a shaft retainer plate 15 and the top of an adapter 12, respectively, the adapter itself is accordingly rotated counterclockwise so that a valve section is opened by means of a handle shaft 2. At this time the rotation of the handle is retarded and is then transmitted so that water hammer due to abrupt valve- opening and -closing operation may be prevented from being generated. |
