PURPOSE:To get accurate information on occurrence of any trouble by detecting a trouble of a signal which indicates whether an accelerator is in operation or not from the operating state of an engine with ISC actuated. CONSTITUTION:For some reason or other, such as a trouble of a sensor, or disconnection or short circuit of an output signal system, for example, the state of an output signal THSW indicates that an accelerator is not in operation, even though in practice, the accelerator is in operation. In such signal state, both the results determined in steps 103 and 104 are YES so that a throttle valve actuator is given data DTWL of a specified value in place of a value preset by ISC. Accurate information on occurrence of any trouble can be obtained, in this way. |
