PURPOSE:To consolidate and dewater soil and sand in a dewatering cylinder by providing a dewatering cylinder having a suction chamber through a screen in the inside of a soil chamber at its lower end opening and an oil-pressure cylinder to push the dewatering cylinder into the bottom to be dredged. CONSTITUTION:In settling a dewatering cylinder 1 into the bottom to be dredged under water, the valve V1 of a path 5 for releasing suctional action is opened to allow water to intrude into the dewatering cylinder 1. When the cylinder 1 reaches the bottom under water, oil-pressure cylinders 9 and 9' are extended and the valve V4 of a path 6 for suction leading to a vacuum tank 11 of the valve V5 leading to the suction side 12 of the jet pump MJP is opened to allow suctional force to act on the suction chamber 4. Whereupon, soil and sand of sediment sludge layer below the lower end opening of the cylinder 1 are put into the soil chamber 2 by suction force, deep water pressure, and forced pushing force in a short time and then consolidated and dewatered by the screen 3. |
