PURPOSE:To produce a ketazine useful as an intermediate for the synthesis of hydrazine, by reacting ammonia with a peroxide and a ketone in the presence of a catalyst comprising a specific palladium (II) complex. CONSTITUTION:The objective compound can be produced by reacting ammonia with a peroxide and a ketone (e.g. acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, cyclopentanone, benzophenone, etc.) in the presence of a catalyst comprising a palladium (II) complex coordinated with nitrogen selected from ammonia and amine (e.g. diammine or tetraammine palladium) at -10-+100 deg.C, preferably 0-80 deg.C. The amounts of the ketone, ammonia and catalyst are 0.5-40mol, 1-100mol and >=0.05mol per 1mol of the peroxide, respectively. |
