PURPOSE:To improve accuracy regardless of the shape of a body to be detected through simple constitution by confronting one-side end surfaces of plural optical fibers for projection and optical fibers for photodetection with the surface of the body to be detected, and guiding reflected light from the body to be detected to a line image sensor through the optical fibers for photodetection. CONSTITUTION:The body 12 to be detected is irradiated with light from a light source 10 through the optical fibers 11 for projection and its reflected light is guided to the line image sensor 14 through the optical fibers 13 for photodetection. The output of the line image sensor 14 is stored in memory 16 and also compared by a comparing circuit 18 with data on the shape, pattern, and color of a sample of an objective conforming body 12 stored in memory 15. Picture elements having different reflection characteristics from the conforming article sample are extracted and superposed upon picture elements of the conforming article sample to display a defect of the body 12 sharply. |
