PURPOSE:To perform the accurate positional determination of apper, by forming a loop to paper and reversely driving a platen to impart vibration to the paper. CONSTITUTION:When a sensor 22 detects a fed sheet 5, a platen drive means rotates a platen 18 to a reverse direction A. When the leading end of the sheet 5 reaches the meshing part of the platen 18 and a pinch roller 19a, said sheet 5 is limited at the leading end thereof without being held between the plate 18 and the pinch roller 19a because of the rotation of the platen 18 to the A-direction. Further, by driving a paper feed roller 7 for an accurate time, a proper loop is formed to the sheet 5. Next, when the driving of the paper feed roller 7 is stopped and the platen 18 is rotated to a positive direction B, vibration is imparted to the paper feed roller 7 and the sheet 5 is fed to the side of a recording head 20 while certainly held between the plate 18 and pinch rollers 19a, 19b. |
