PURPOSE:To improve cycle life and self discharge rate of a secondary battery by using dithiophene polymer obtained by electrochemical polymerization of dithiophene compound in a positive electrode and using acetylene high polymer in a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:Examples of dithiophene compounds indicated by the general formula (R1 and R2 are alkyl group having the number of carbons of 5 or less, m and n are the integer of 0, 1, or 2.) are 2,2'-3,3'-dimethyl-2,2'-bithienyl, and 4,4'- dimethyl-2,2'-bithienyl. Ditiophene polymer for positive electrode and acetylene high polymer for negative electrode can be used in various forms such as film, powder, and short fiber. A secondary battery manufactured based on this invention has long cycle life, high energy density, low self discharge rate, flat discharge voltage, good charge-discharge effeciency, light weight and compact size. Therefore, this battery is suitable for applications for portable appliances, electric cars, usual cars, and power storage. |
