PURPOSE:To keep off any increase in an amount of equipment investment, by installing a common secondary tool magazine traveling between plural machining centers, while transferring each tool to a primary tool detachable magazine from the former, in case of a tool feed system with a travel function. CONSTITUTION:A work shop 1 consists of plural units of universal machining centers MC121 and 122, tool detachable magazines (primary MG) 131 and 132 storing tools used in these machining centers and directly loading tools to these machines and MC controllers 111 and 112 doing performance control over each working apparatus combining these machining centers and the primary MG. On the other hand, a tool detachable magazine 2 with a traveling function is constituted of a secondary MG22 storing such tools being used in each MC and not stored in the primary MG temporarily and a tool storage controller 21 doing the performance control over this secondary MG. In addition, a tool control center system 3 controlling all tools used in the work shop consists of a tool control center 32 and a tool center controller 31.
