PURPOSE:To remove endotoxin in a relatively large amt. of aq. liquid efficiently and without causing clogging by using porous hollow short fiber consisting of polyolefin and having a particular structure. CONSTITUTION:The polyolefin porous hollow fiber to be used has a microlaminar structure comprising microfibrils 1 and oblong fine pores 3 constituted of knots 2 connected almost perpendicularly to said microfibrils 1 and interposing said knots 2. The above described hollow fibers are cut to short fibers. Further, the hollow short fibers have >=20vol% porosity measured by Hg porosimeter, and the surface is made hydrophilic. The short fibers are packed in a cylindrical body, and aq. liquid contg. endotoxin at 4-9pH and 0-80 deg.C is passed through the cylindrical body.
