PURPOSE:To make uniform braking control performable, by installing plural pieces of a braking device, which gives tension to an electrode for a wire-cut electro-discharge machining device, while controlling braking force and operating numbers of the device on the basis of output of a tension detector for the wire electrode. CONSTITUTION:A wire electrode 1 is interposingly installed in position between a pinch roller 5e winding up the wire electrode 1 and a capstan 10. When the capstan 10 is rotated by a motor 11, the electrode 1 is drawn out of a storage drum 3 and guided by each of guide rollers 7a-7e. And, the electrode 1 is interposingly installed in position between a group of brake rollers 4a-4d and another group of pinch rollers 5a-5d, causing these brake rollers 4a-4d to generate braking force, and as giving a fixed amount of tension to the electrode, they reach to a machining part, thus electro-discharge machining takes place. A shaft of an encoder 9 is solidly attached to the shaft of a guide roller 7b or these pinch rollers 5a-5e whereby a state of transferring the electrode 1 is converted an electric signal, giving it to a control circuit 8, thus each of braking devices 6a-6d is controlled. |
