PURPOSE:To feed tools in a concentration tool room to a spindle of a machining center via a tool cassette without fail, by installing a three-position stop mechanism and a level control mechanism for an operating position both in a tool changing arm of an automatic tool changer for a machining center. CONSTITUTION:An automatic tool changer is set up between a tool change position and a tool cassette 1 being fed to the tool change position proximate to a machining center M. In this automatic tool changer ATC, there are provided with a driving mechanism C1 of a tool changing device for stopping a tool changing arm 2 at a tool delivery position with the tool cassette 1, a neutral position separated from each of the tool cassette 1 and the machining center M and a tool delivery position with a spindle 4 of the machining center M, a rotary driving mechanism R transmitting rotary motion for a tool position change to the tool changing arm 2 and a reciprocating mechanism C2 making the driving mechanism C1 shift along an axis of each tool. In addition a vertical motion mechanism E for the arm 2 adjusting its height between a tool housing stage of the cassette 1 and the spindle 4 is installed too.
