PURPOSE:To test specimen suitable for medical use and traffic control, easily portable, not requiring a specific device and technique, capable of detecting alcohol concentration at any position, comprising an alcohol oxidase, a peroxidase, a dyestuff, and a carrier. CONSTITUTION:(A) 10<6>-10<8> unit/l alcohol oxidase, (B) 10<6>-10<8> unit/l peroxidase, and (C) 0.2-1.0mol/l dyestuff (fading or coloring in the presence of hydrogen peroxide by action of peroxidase, such as O-dianisidine, potassium iodide, etc.) are dissolved in a buffer solution at 6.5-8.5pH, to prepare a solution. (D) A carrier such as gelatin, rayon, etc. is immersed in the solution, and, if necessary, it is dried, to give the desired test specimen.
