PURPOSE:To obtain the titled enzyme useful for producing L-phenylalanine, etc. in a remarkably high yield, by cultivating a microorganism of the genus Oosporidium capable of producing L-phenylalanine ammonia-lyase. CONSTITUTION:A microorganism, belonging to the genus Oosporidium of Saccharomycodes, and capable of producing L-phenylalanine ammonia-lyase, e.g. Saccharomycodes ludwigii IFO1043, is cultivated in a culture medium to obtain the aimed enzyme from the resultant culture. The presence of L- or DL-phenylalanine in the culture medium preferably improves the production of the enzyme. |
