PURPOSE:To enable storage of records by making information concerned to recording/reproducing correspond to a record medium by providing a semiconductor memory in a casing which winds and accommodates the information recording medium. CONSTITUTION:A casing 1 is provided with a reloadable EEPROM3 to store abstract information related to information recorded in a magnetic tape 2 and information concerning its information reproduction operation. When an information recording medium device is mounted on an information recording and reproducing device, this PROM3 is connected electrically to the information recording and reproducing device and operates after energized to write information and reproduce writing information.
