A tape switch for electrotechnically controlled roll tapes, equipped with rows of coding perforations, in roll tape devices used as passenger information systems, especially for vehicles, is characterised by the fact that each running track of a coding hole is allocated an electronically clocked and capacitively decoupled light barrier. Each light barrier is a reflected-light barrier which operates with the reflection of the roll tape passing through.
