PURPOSE:To prevent increase of indoor humidity by stopping indoor side fan when compressor stops upon room cooling operation and improve the feeling of air conditioning by providing a solenoid clutch on the indoor side shaft of fan motor. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid clutch 5 is provided between the indoor side shaft 9 of a fan motor 3 and a shaft 8 to which a sirocco fan 6 is attached. The solenoid clutch 5 consists of a solenoid coil unit 10, clutches 11a, 11b, a pulley 15, a bearing 16 and the like. Upon the room cooling operation, when the compressor stops by a thermostat, the solenoid coil unit 10 is not conducted and the sirocco fan 6 is not rotated but an outdoor fan 2 and the clutches 11a, 11b are rotated. Accordingly, the highly humid ventilating air, blown off into a room after passing through the indoor side heat exchanger 7, is stopped and the feeling in the living room may be improved. On the other hand, dehumidification may be effected without reducing an indoor temperature so much by repeating conduction and non-conduction of the solenoid coil 10 by a timer upon the room cooling operation.
