PURPOSE:The titled alicyclic composition, obtained by incorporating a specific epoxy resin with a curing agent, capable of giving an optional state ranging from a liquid - solid states, and having improved water, heat and weather resistance. CONSTITUTION:A novel epoxy resin composition obtained by incorporating an epoxy resin of formula I {R1 is organic compound residue having l active hydrogen atoms; n1-nl are 0 or integers 1-100; and the sum thereof is 1-100; l is an integer 1-100; A is oxycyclohexane skeleton of formula II having a substituent group [X is formula III, IV or V (R2 is H, alkyl, alkylcarbonyl or arylcarbonyl) and contains at least one group of formula III in the resin of formula I ]}with a curing agent, e.g. diethylenetriamine, and if necessary a filler, e.g. silica sand, and a flame retardant, e.g. tetrabromobisphenol A, etc.
