<p>In an urine drainage bag (30) to be used in an upright disposition, air is allowed to shuttle freely in use between the storage chamber (33) of the bag and a drip chamber (32) at the top of the bag (30) by providing a wide open outlet (34) from the drip chamber (32) to the storage bag (33). A non-return valve (31) is preferably fitted to the outlet end of the urine flow passage (37) from the patient to the drip chamber (32). If desired, free air flow from the drip chamber (32) to the storage chamber (33), when the bag (30) is abused by lying it flat on one face thereof, can be inhibited by using weldings (40) to pull down the top face near the outlet (34) to the drip chamber (32) or by propping up the top end of the drip (32) chamber with a handle to the bag (30).</p> |
