PURPOSE:To inspect securely even the size of a defect which extends long at right angles to a radiation beam direction by putting a radiation data detection system in spiral scanning operation for a body to be inspected. CONSTITUTION:A radiation source is shifted in position at intervals of, for example, 30 deg. from a starting point A1 (theta=0 deg.) to the body 10 to be inspected in its sectional direction, and also shifted lengthwise at intervals of distance D to irradiate a fan-shaped radiation beam. Thus, image reconstitution processing is carried out through the 3rd-generation type scanning operation of a normal CT scanner, and then if there is a defect 13 in the body 10 to be inspected at, for example, a point A2, a linear artifact 13A2 showing a flaw in a figure (A) is displayed on a CRT at 30 deg.. The position of the flow is known from this 13A2. Further, if the flaw extends by the distance D, the linear artifact 13A2 apparatus even at a point A3 and is displayed as shown in a figure (B), so it is known that the thin flaw extends lengthwise. |
