PURPOSE:To manufacture a resin-impregnated coil which is excellent in mechanical and electrical properties etc. and appropriate to a dry transformer or the like, by coating a thermosetting insulating material on the inside surface, outside surface, bottom surface, etc. of the coil, making a lower reinforcing layer on the coil and causing an insulating resin to flow in from the top of the coil and be impregnated. CONSTITUTION:At least one of the inside and outside surfaces of a coil blank 1 and its bottom surface are coated with a thermosetting insulating material. This material is then hardened to make insulating seal layers 5, 6, 7. The coil is put on a platter 8 which serves also as a hanger. A liquefied resin in poured into the platter and set to make a reinforcing layer 10 which acts to prevent leakage from the lower part of the coil. An insulating resin is caused to flow in from the top of the coil and be impregnated into it. The impregnated resin is heated and hardened as the coil is kept still in an oven or the like. This results in providing the resin-impregnated coil as desired. |
