PURPOSE:To provide a printer wherein a continuous paper can be replaced and set easily and accurately, comprising a commanding means for reverse feeding of a printing medium, a detecting means for a predetermined position of the medium, a feeding amount counting means and a memory means. CONSTITUTION:When replacing a continuous paper 3 by a slip 30, a commanding switch 19 for reverse feeding of a paper is operated, whereby a platen 2 is rotated reversely to feed the paper 3 reversely, and simultaneously, the feeding amount is counted by a feeding amount counter 16. When the trailing end of the paper 3 is detected by a sensor 15, a signal is outputted to stop the reverse feeding of the paper, and the counted value at that moment is stored into a memory 17. When setting again the continuous paper 3 after switching a switching lever 18a to the slip side and inserting and setting the slip 30, the counted value A stored in the memory 17 is sent to the counter 16, and is set on the counter 16, whereby setting is completed. |
