PURPOSE:A composition, obtained by chlorinating a polyolefin consisting essentially of polybutene and crystalline polypropylene separately or in a mixture at the same time, and suitable for giving coating agents or adhesives having improved adhesion and adhesive property to nonpolar surfaces. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition obtained by mixing (A) a polyolefin, containing >=80wt% butene-1 in the constituent monomer, and having 20,000- 1,500,000, preferably 100,000-1,000,000mol.wt. with (B) crystalline polypropylene having 2,000-200,000mol.wt. at 10/90-90/10 weight ratio, and the resultant mixture is simultaneously chlorinated to give 20-50wt% chlorine content in both. The polyolefin (A) and the polypropylene (B) may be separately chlorinated and then blended. However, both (A) and (B) may be preferably mixed and then chlorinated to make the system uniform at the boiling point under ordinary pressure. In this case, apparatuses are simple, and there are great economic advantages.
