PURPOSE:To carry out easily and accurately control of fuel feed rate by program heating, by doing the first change of fuel feed rate to a coke oven on the basis of concentration of a specific component in a gas evolved from coking chambers. CONSTITUTION:Fuel feed rate is controlled based on two or more concentrations of hydrogen, methane, and ethylene in a coke oven gas evolved from coking chambers during coal carbonization by carrying out the first change from a high flow rate at the early stage of carbonization to a low flow rate including a zero state in change operation of fuel feed rate by program heating. Usually, data of the concentrations with time corresponding to carbonization time of the gas components are preobtained, and changing time is decided from the actual measurement result of the gas components and the data.
