发明名称 METHOD FOR ACTIVATING HYDROGEN STORING ALLOY
摘要 PURPOSE:To activate a hydrogen storing alloy by mixing the alloy with an additive generates H2 in a soln. and immersing the mixture in the soln. to hydrogenate rapidly and easily the alloy with generated H2. CONSTITUTION:A hydrogen storing alloy such as CaNi5 is ground to <=50mum particle size, and the resulting powder is mixed with commercially available Al powder. This mixture is slowly charged into an aqueous NaOH soln. kept at 40 deg.C, and they are stirred for a prescribed time. The Al powder generates H2 by a reaction represented by the equation. The solid matter is well washed with water by decantation, and it is dehydrated with ethanol and dried under reduced pressure. Powder obtd. in said stages is filled into a reactor in a gaseous Ar atmosphere, and gaseous H2 is introduced into the reactor at 25 deg.C under 5atm. At this time, H2 can be occluded in the CaNi2 alloy by about 100Nml per 1g alloy in 20min.
