PURPOSE:To provide the titled device with which the desired shape and accuracy of a lens and the optical axis of the lens are easily obtainable by providing a space part into which part of a blank material for the glass lens can flow to the outside circumferential part of a molded lens formed of molding dies and sliding core parts. CONSTITUTION:A glass lens molding device provided with a stationary lower die 1, an upper die 2 made vertically movable in the direction of arrows Z, Z' by a cylinder 6 so as to face said die, sliding core parts 3R, 3L moving forward and backward in the direction of arrows X, X' by cylinders 4 so as to enclose and hold the circular cylindrical side faces thereof, etc. is so constituted that a space part to permit inflow of part of a blank material for a glass lens is provided in the outside circumferential part of a molded glass lens 10 to be formed, thereby forming a projection 5A. Then the blank material for the glass lens heated to a prescribed temp. between the surfaces 11 and 12 of the forming dies is pressed to form the lens 10 and after the die 2 arrives at the bottom dead point, the projection 5A is formed of the excess blank material for the glass lens by which the variance of the blank material for the lens is allowed and the need for a center removing operation after molding of the lens is eliminated. |
