PURPOSE:To obtain a durable tilt angle detector for headlamp irradiation which mounted easily by detecting the tilt of a cylindrical body in a curved shape by utilizing the gravitational movement of the solid body in the cylindrical body. CONSTITUTION:Five light emitting diodes 11 are arranged and fixed along the lengthwise axis of a light transmission tube 3 and connected to the electric conductor of a printed board 10. Phototransistors 12 are arranged and fixed on a sensor base 22 opposite to the light emitting diodes 11 across the light transmission tube 3 and connected to the electric conductor of the pringed board 10. For example, when the detector is arranged horizontally so that the center of the light transmission tube 3 is at the lowest point of curvature, a ball 4 is positioned in the center of the light transmission tube to shield the center phototransistor 12 from light from the center light emitting diode 11. The tilt is de tected from its output line.
