METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TESTING THE QUALITY OF THE CELL CONNECTIONS OF MULTICELL BATTERIES

To test the coil connectors 4 of batteries the exposed connectors are engaged by contacts 9, 10 mounted on a movable measuring head 8 at a measuring station 16. A measuring device is sequentially connected to the contacts to measure the potential drop across the connectors. The measured potential drop is compared with a predetermined value and in the event that a faulty connector is located the battery is moved to a holding store for faulty batteries.
